Release time: 2023-02-03
1. What is EAC certification?
EAC certification is the certification of the countries of the Customs Union. The Customs Union is an economic bloc led by Russia, including Russia, Belarus (formerly known as "Belarus"), and Kazakhstan. In 2015, EAC certification became mandatory, and products with EAC certification can be directly imported and sold in these three countries. Because the certification mark is the English letter EAC, it is called EAC certification. The Chinese names of EAC certification are not uniform. Because the three countries of the Customs Union are abbreviated as CU-TR, EAC certification is also called "Customs Union" certification and CU-TR certification, which are actually the same certification. Similar to foreign companies calling China's CCC certification GB certification.
2. Why do you need EAC certification?
Before the establishment of the Customs Union, the three countries of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan had their own independent certification systems, because their certifications were all managed by the national bureaus of standards of each country. The Russian abbreviation is GOST, so the predecessor of EAC certification is the GOST certification of various countries, and Russia is called GOST-R certification ( R stands for Russia), Belarus is called GOST-B certification (B stands for Belarus), Kazakhstan is called GOST-K certification (K stands for Kazakhstan). After the unified certification of the three countries is EAC, because there are too many regulated products, the demand for certification has become great, so EAC certification is a certification that all companies entering Russia and its surrounding markets must face.
Of course, if the company insists on certification in a single country, such as Russia's GOST-R certification, this is also possible, but it cannot be sold to other countries.
3. Which products need EAC certification?
The Customs Union has formulated uniform mandatory technical regulations to regulate product quality. Products within the technical regulations must first obtain EAC certification before they are allowed to be imported and sold. At present, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have issued dozens of technical regulations.
4. Which institutions can issue EAC certificates?
The EAC certification system is similar to that of China. Each of the three countries of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan has its own certification body and testing laboratory recognized by the National Bureau of Standards, just like China's Certification and Accreditation Administration recognizes CQC (China Quality Certification Center). Because it is an alliance certification, for example, the EAC certification issued by the Kazakhstan certification agency can also be used in Russia, and it is not necessarily required to be issued by a Russian agency. However, because the country is the largest in the alliance, Russia also has the largest number and capabilities of certification agencies.
There is no institution in China that can issue EAC certification, and the final certificate must be issued by the certification agencies of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
5. What is the process of EAC certification?
There are two types of EAC certificates, one is called the EAC certificate of conformity (COC). The EAC certificate of conformity is issued by a certification body and a testing laboratory that is uniformly certified and registered by the Customs Union. All domestic factories can apply for this certificate. The validity period of the EAC certificate is divided into batches, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and 5 years. A single batch of EAC certificates needs to be sent to foreign countries for testing; certificates with 1-year, 2-year, 3-year, 4-year and 5-year validity periods must be audited by foreign institutions and samples sent abroad for testing.
The other is called EAC Conformity Certification (DOC), which can be issued only by providing documents, without sample testing and factory inspection, but the certification applicant must be a company of the Customs Union as a product quality assurance company. At present, most of the so-called EAC certification in China refers to this. This certificate can also clear customs, the price is cheap and the cycle is fast
6. How long is the EAC certification period?
If the enterprise applies for EAC conformity certification, the complete information will be sent to the certification body, and the certificate will be issued within one week.
If it involves sample testing and factory inspection, the cycle takes about three or four months.
7. How much is the price of EAC certification?
If an enterprise applies for EAC conformity certification, it is just a document work, and the certificate can be obtained with only a few thousand RMB.
If an enterprise applies for an EAC certificate of conformity, sample testing is required, and the price varies according to different products, ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands.
